Oh no! We need to reschedule your photo session! It happens more often than you’d think. Though my official Frequently Asked Questions page addresses this topic, I get a lot of follow-up questions from my photography clients about potentially rescheduling their photo sessions and hope to alleviate your concerns here.
What should I do if someone in my family is sick?
First and foremost, do not bring any sick family members to your session. We can either reschedule your session or, if it’s a newborn session, and one of the older siblings is sick, you can decide if you’d like to reschedule or do the session without sibling photos. I’ve had families do both, and the decision is yours.
What if I have a family emergency or a work trip comes up?
Usually, my schedule is pretty flexible, and we can reschedule your photo session to accommodate these unforeseen things that come up.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
This is the number one reason for rescheduling photo sessions. Usually, we adjust your session date by a day or two to a nicer day. If your schedule isn’t flexible, we can use my in-home studio, your home (travel fees apply), or an outdoor pavilion.
Since you’re fully booked for the year, will I need to wait a year if my session needs to be rescheduled?
No, I leave open dates throughout every month for exactly this purpose. Spring 2022 has been a bit different though, with a record number of illness and weather-related reschedulings, so at this current time, I’m having to move my clients to openings weeks later vs. the usual 2-3 days.
What happens if I schedule a newborn session, and I have a miscarriage?
Your newborn session deposit is 100% refundable should you have to endure such heartbreak.
What are my options if I can no longer afford the session?
I’m happy to work out a payment plan if you would like to proceed with your session. If you’d like to cancel, please read the next question.
How do I cancel my session?
If you give me at least a 10 day heads up (per your signed contract), the deposit is 100% refundable. Within that window, you forfeit the deposit but aren’t liable to pay the balance.
I hope this answers your questions about rescheduling your photo session. Please reach out if you have further questions! Keep scrolling for more images from my 2022 photo sessions.
I’m fully booked for 2022, but I’ll be opening for spring 2023 sessions in August of this year. Please contact me if you’d like to be notified when those dates open up!
