So you’ve booked a photography session with me (or another photographer – that’s okay too!) and are wondering what to wear or which location to choose. I put together this quick guide of photography session inspiration to help you with those decisions and to get you excited about your own photo session!
You’ll see in these images how much the feel of the photos change by the clothes, time of day, weather, and locations.
Let’s talk about locations first. I do MOST of my sessions in Willowsford, but sometimes families like to change it up. Here are some alternatives…
Want brickwork in your images? These sessions were taken at the Aldie Mill!
Or we could head to Mt. Zion Park (pictured below), just a couple miles away.
I got to check out Jones Point Park in Alexandria for the first time this year (left) and another family invited me to their gorgeous backyard (right).
Want to include your dog? I’d love that! Here are three sessions where the families brought along their furry family members. For the session on the left, we met at the caboose in Vienna.
Maybe you’re looking for some photography session inspiration for your high school senior portraits. I’ve got you!
Both of the senior sessions above took place in November, after the leaves had fallen. BUT THEY’RE STILL GORGEOUS! Want to see how amazing winter sessions can be? Here are more examples below:
Winter sessions give you so much flexibility for color options, too! Neutrals and bold colors work great! Here’s one where they mixed a bunch of colors with amazing results!
Brrr. That’s enough of the winter talk. Let’s move on. Hmmm…. Ooh, what to do if you have super energetic children or painfully shy ones? Let them play and run!
Can’t decide between outdoor and studio pics? We can do both! Here are some photography session inspiration images to help you see what that would look like. Click to view them larger.
I only had one newborn session this fall, but I have an entire gallery of newborn session Pinterest boards to help you decide which colors to choose for your newborn photo session.
Finally, if you are blessed enough to have your extended family nearby, gather them together for an extended family session! The one on the left was in Willowsford while the one on the right was at Green Spring Gardens near Annandale.
If you have ideas for your photos, I’m all ears! I love spontaneity and trying new things!
I still have a few sessions available this winter! Schedule online today!
