I rang in 2023 sick with COVID, thinking “It can only get better from here,” and how right I was! This year brought me much-needed laughter and joy, as well as several personal and professional accomplishments. But seeing as this is a photography blog (for the most part), I’ll stick with the topic at hand – my amazing clients!
Choosing my favorite photos from each of your sessions is always a challenge. It’s hard enough to get it down to the 40 or so I include in your gallery! Yes, sometimes the photo I choose is the most photographically perfect – it has just the right light, composition, colors, expressions, posing, and hand placement.
But MOST of the time, my favorite photos have to do more with my memory of that moment in time. Maybe you did something silly to make your kid laugh, or they finally came out of their shell and started goofing off. Maybe it’s the way you looked at each other, or my excitement at getting the perfect group photo without one head swap. Sometimes I just fall in love with the image because it makes me feel something – wonder, happiness, and sometimes sorrow at the way time is slipping through our hands. How are our babies getting so big so fast??
Thank you for making my year so beautiful. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you.

Is the photo I selected of your family the one you would’ve picked, or do you have a different favorite?
